Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information AFE Leaks Research and Consulting, LLC d/b/a Nameplate Data ("Nameplate Data," "we") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Nameplate Data platform, API, and website.
2. Information we collect
Account information you provide (name, work email, organization). If you create an account, we receive your email address and a sign-in identifier from Google Firebase Authentication, including when you sign in with Google. API keys are stored only as one-way hashes; we cannot read or recover a key after it is issued. Usage data such as pages viewed, queries run, API calls, and exports generated. Billing is processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full payment card details. We do not sell personal information.
3. How we use information
To provide and improve the Services, authenticate access, enforce API rate limits and tier entitlements, generate audit trails, communicate about your account, and maintain security. Usage analytics are used in aggregate to improve the product.
4. Source & market data
The project, power, filing, and financing data in the platform is derived from public and licensed sources about organizations and infrastructure — not about platform users. Provenance and retrieval timestamps are retained for each fact.
5. Sharing & subprocessors
We share data only with vetted subprocessors under contract — currently Google Cloud Platform (hosting and Firebase Authentication sign-in), Stripe (billing), and Substack (newsletter delivery) — or where required by law. A current list of subprocessors is available on request.
6. Retention
We retain account and usage records for the life of your subscription and a limited period afterward for legal and audit purposes; they are deleted on request following termination. Watchlists and workbench preferences are stored locally in your browser and never reach our servers.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data. Contact bd@nameplatedata.com to exercise these rights.
